Job summary

Public Health - Seattle & King County is seeking Nutrition Assistants for WIC clinics in the Midway and Federal Way Public Health Centers. The Nutrition Assistant will assess eligibility and provide nutrition education to individuals and families, both in 1:1 and group settings.

Temporary term-limited positions are at-will and anticipated to last 1 year, with benefits eligibility. Strong Microsoft Office skills and comfort with multiple electronic records systems are required.

Qualifications

• Complete Washington State WIC paraprofessional competencies within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Gather and assess information for health and nutrition risk factors and eligibility.
• Provide group and individual nutrition education including lactation support.
• Document client information and manage appointments in electronic records (Cascades, Epic).
• Respond to telephone inquiries and schedule appointments with diverse clients.
• Order and maintain program supplies and educational materials.
