Job summary

Catholic Charities of Buffalo is seeking a full-time Nutrition Assistant for our Jamestown, NY WIC program. The role supports nutrition staff, educates participants, and handles PCNS by phone or in person while ensuring excellent service at the clinic.

The position requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and reliable transportation to WIC clinics and trainings. Travel to multiple sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and ability to travel to WIC clinics and training locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinic and office support to the Nutrition Staff.
• Assist participants with WIC Health online nutrition education.
• Provide Participant Centered Nutrition Services (PCNS) by phone or in person.
• Set the tone for excellent customer service to participants entering the clinic.
• Orient/educate participants about the WIC program.
• Make appointment reminders and no-show calls.
• Collect information for nutrition assessment processes and eligibility.
• Obtain anthropometric measurements and hematological data as trained, with quality logs.
• Participate in breastfeeding promotion and support.
• Provide and document referrals to health and social services from community partners.
