Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Lake County is seeking a HEALTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST to support the WIC program. Responsibilities include taking weight/height measurements, conducting hematological tests, and entering data in FL-WiSE.

You will assist nutrition staff, answer appointment inquiries, and help maintain WIC inventories and equipment. The role requires ability to multitask, follow detailed procedures, and travel to different WIC sites in Lake County as needed.

Qualifications

• Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal hours for emergencies.
• Willing to travel to WIC sites in Lake County.
• Experience or training in hematological testing.
• Experience or training in anthropometric measurements.

Responsibilities

• Perform weight and height measurements for WIC clients and input data into FL-WiSE.
• Conduct hematological tests necessary for WIC certification and maintain calibration records.
• Manage WIC appointment line, schedule changes, and document handling.
• Assist nutrition staff with questionnaires and education using WIC materials.
• Organize inventories of medical supplies, forms, and WIC cards.
