Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Grocery Associate to promote nutrition services, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe store environment while delivering friendly, reliable service. You will scan and bag WIC products, support inventory, and stay informed on WIC and CCAC guidelines, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

This role requires physical effort, lifting up to 50 lbs, compliance with background checks, and drug testing;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years relevant experience.
• Associate's Degree (AA) preferred with 3–5 years relevant experience.
• Food Handler Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly client assistance, respond to inquiries, operate register, and promote nutrition services.
• Accurately scan and bag redeemed WIC products; assist with inventory; ensure proper display, rotation, and reporting of damaged or near-expiration items.
• Maintain knowledge of program guidelines; comply with CCAC policies and external requirements; attend meetings and review communications.
• Keep current with WIC and CCAC updates and employee communications.
• Engage in ongoing learning and skill development to improve performance.
