Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc. is seeking a Registered Dietitian to serve as the WIC/MH nutritionist based in Spencer, IA, with travel to clinic sites. This hourly position offers 30-40 hours per week, with hours varying by clinic schedules and potential changes as needed.

Qualifications

Registered Dietitian with current licensure in the State of Iowa.
Ability to work with a diverse population of low-income individuals.

Responsibilities

Function as the CPA for determination of program eligibility and certification.
Assess and document a participant’s nutrition risk, perform measurements and tests, and complete the Nutrition Interview.
Prescribe food packages and tailor the WIC food package to meet dietary needs.
Provide nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support.
Set up/tear down traveling clinic stations and load/unload clinic supplies.
Document screening and referrals for lead testing and immunizations.
Coordinate with local physicians and agencies to ensure WIC documentation is completed.
Provide nutrition assessments/counseling for Head Start programs and participate in related activities.
