Job summary

Lane County Public Health is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable WIC Nutritionist/Dietitian to join our WIC program. You will provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and education to families with diverse needs, supporting breastfeeding and infant feeding practices.

You will collaborate with healthcare partners and connect families with resources to promote long-term health and wellness, building relationships with diverse populations and translating nutrition science

Qualifications

• Provides individualized nutrition assessments and counseling.
• Supports prenatal, postpartum, infant, and child nutrition needs.
• Experience or knowledge in maternal and child health, community nutrition, or public health is valuable.
• Ability to translate nutrition science into practical guidance for diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling, and education to WIC participants.
• Support families with prenatal, postpartum, infant, and child nutrition needs.
• Promote breastfeeding and healthy infant feeding practices.
• Develop nutrition care plans and provide follow-up for participants with complex needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners to coordinate services.
• Help create a welcoming, supportive environment where families feel respected and empowered.
