Job summary

Harmony Healthcare Long Island is seeking a receptionist for the WIC program to determine financial, residential and categorical eligibility, schedule clinic appointments, and maintain an accessible office filing system. May travel to different service locations as needed.

The role supports nutrition assessment and education, with a focus on customer-friendly, participant-centered care. Bilingual Spanish/English required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of experience working with children and families.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.

Responsibilities

• Collect information for the nutrition assessment process.
• Promote breastfeeding as the preferred infant feeding method.
• Complete issuance of food packages that do not require medical documentation, once prescribed by the Nutritionist.
• Provide and document general participant-centered nutrition education under the guidance of a Nutritionist.
• Provide referrals to health and public assistance programs, and document follow-up.
• Identify and refer participants to a Nutritionist.
• Assist Nutritionists in planning and evaluating participant-centered nutrition education.

JOB SUMMARY:

Acts as receptionist, determines financial, residential and categorical WIC eligibility, weights, measures and records data. Schedules clinic appointments for program participants; assists in nutrition, participant centered activities, and general program operations. Establishes and maintains accurate and accessible office filing system, tracks documents required.

May travel to different service locations as needed. All staff work together to support each other throughout the nutrition assessment and education process. The overall goal is to provide customer-friendly, professional, participant-centered quality care that will enhance the lives of those served.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SALARY:

$22/hour
