Job summary

CommuniCare Health Centers (Texas) seeks a WIC Certification Specialist to provide breastfeeding support and nutrition education within the WIC program. You will manage certification, benefits issuance, appointments, and referrals, using the WIC MIS system while handling inventory and audits of EBT cards.

You will perform nutrition assessments, conduct counseling, and assist in training staff. Strong teamwork, BLS, and bilingual skills are required, with state training completion within 9 months

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College level nutrition courses highly preferred.
• Basic office skills, including filing typing, computer literacy.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must complete required State training designed for Formula Certified WIC Certification Specialist and modules within 9 months of hire.
• Prior WIC experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding support and nutrition education within WIC.
• Complete certification process, issue benefits, schedule appointments and referrals.
• Maintain WIC MIS system, audits, and inventory management of WIC EBT cards.
• Perform nutrition assessments, risk assessment, and document health history.
• Conduct counseling and education services in various modalities.
• Schedule and monitor client appointments and manage documentation.
