Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking a compassionate WIC Educator to support nutrition, breastfeeding, and benefits for families in our public health program. You will manage a busy schedule of in-person and phone appointments with a focus on accurate data entry and high-quality client service.

Responsibilities include counseling on program options, determining eligibility, issuing benefits, and connecting families with community resources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in community health or related field.
• Associate’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of WIC clients and provide nutrition and breastfeeding education.
• Counsel clients on program options and develop care plans.
• Determine eligibility and issue benefits for grocery stores.
• Collect and analyze demographics and anthropometric data per WIC protocol.
• Provide referrals to partner services and maintain records.
