Job summary

Nokia is seeking a senior researcher to define and shape a research agenda under top experts in the field. You will contribute to IEEE 802.11 and Wi‑Fi Alliance efforts, draft innovations, and present ideas.

You will help transfer promising concepts to industry standards and collaborate across companies to advance Wi‑Fi technology. Responsibilities include developing novel ideas for the Wi‑Fi 9 era and evaluating them within the IEEE 802.11 and Wi‑Fi Alliance frameworks.

Qualifications

  • PhD in EE, CS, Physics, or similar; or MS + 5+ years of experience as Wi‑Fi standardization delegate.
  • Strong working knowledge of Wi‑Fi up to 802.11bn.
  • Proven track record of innovations and contributions to wireless standards.
  • Deep knowledge of applying AI/ML in PHY and MAC layers.
  • Experience using link and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Become a key contributor to Nokia’s IEEE 802.11 and/or Wi‑Fi Alliance delegation.
  • Develop novel concepts for the Wi‑Fi 9 era and promote them in IEEE 802.11 and Wi‑Fi Alliance.
  • Collaborate with other companies in IEEE 802.11 and Wi‑Fi Alliance to advance next generation Wi‑Fi standards.
