Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Wholesale Fashion Sales Assistant in New York to support senior sales staff across brands sold through Saks and Neiman Marcus. The role emphasizes sales activities, merchandising, and showroom coordination in a fast-paced fashion wholesale environment.

You will build relationships with buyers, process orders, manage samples and inventories, and assist with market preparation and reporting. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of industry tools are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support to the Account Executive with daily sales activities and customer service initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with buyers and assistant buyers at key retail accounts.
• Process orders accurately and efficiently, including order entry, purchase orders, and EDI.
• Communicate with retail partners regarding deadlines, order updates, and time-sensitive matters.
• Photograph merchandise for sales appointments, line sheets, and sample shipments.
• Organize and track showroom samples while maintaining inventory records.
• Support seasonal market prep, showroom organization, and setup for visits.
• Attend showroom meetings and document key discussion points and follow-up items.
• Coordinate preparation, shipment, and tracking of market materials and samples.
• Create and update Excel spreadsheets to monitor purchases, sales activity, and inventory.
• Assist with basic sales reporting, retail analysis, and calculations.
• Keep brand inventory records and seasonal reference books current.
• Compile and distribute weekly selling reports using data from retail partners.
• Contribute to additional sales department projects and initiatives as needed.
