Job Description

The Parts Remote Coach provides field support for MBUSA wholesale mechanical parts sales to the aftermarket, including Independent Repair Facilities, Fleets, and Jobbers. This role supports MBUSA dealerships in wholesale parts sales, focusing on driving short-term sales growth through dealerships and distribution channels. A secondary focus involves building relationships with aftermarket installers, fleets, and commercial accounts, coordinating with stakeholders in MBUSA dealerships and corporate offices. This is a professional, non-supervisory role.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Receiving comprehensive training based on the MBUSA Wholesale Parts Excellence program.
  2. Adapting coaching elements to current program requirements, including checklists, guides, agendas, and presentations.
  3. Preparing for retail visits with personalized presentations, agendas, and financial evaluations using tools like MRA and PSX.
  4. Conducting dealer coaching, including GAP analysis, action plan development, tracking, and certification via MSXI online tools.
  5. Training and supporting dealers in MBUSA WPE services and processes.
  6. Supporting marketing activities such as Customer Potential Analysis, Sales, and Business Planning.
  7. Coordinating travel schedules.
  8. Developing and implementing targeted marketing and sales plans, including technician training, technical support, product promotions, and MBUSA-funded programs.
  9. Monitoring and measuring dealer performance against sales and marketing goals.
  10. Following up on coaching activities and action plans.
  11. Auditing dealer compliance with MBUSA Wholesale Parts Excellence standards.
  12. Understanding MBUSA corporate and Aftersales strategies.
  13. Submitting daily contact reports with visit details, coaching status, and next steps.
  14. Reviewing program status with MBUSA/MSXI management.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate has:

  • At least ten years of professional experience in the automotive aftermarket or wholesale parts, with Mercedes Benz dealer experience preferred.
  • Experience in Mercedes Benz wholesale parts sales, management, and customer requirements.
  • Prior dealership training, coaching, or consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with PCs, Dealer Management Systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivation with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent English and additional languages as required.
  • Ability to perform GAP analysis and develop comprehensive action plans.
  • Experience in wholesale parts business planning and marketing preferred.
  • Ability to execute training, reporting, merchandising, marketing, and facilitation tasks.
  • Proficiency in process development, mapping, evaluation, and execution.
  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills for business decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently with teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to conduct merchandising, deliver materials, travel, and perform physical activities during training, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (minimum 10 years).
  • Familiarity with automotive operations such as manufacturer, fleet, installer, dealership parts, and aftermarket services.
  • Basic understanding of automotive repair and technology.
  • Experience in wholesale automotive parts sales and management.
