Job summary

West Town Bakery in Chicago, IL is seeking a friendly Delivery Driver to join our fast-paced, team-oriented bakery operation. The role starts at 3:00 AM and requires reliable, on-time delivery of orders within designated time windows.

You will load product securely, verify items, collect guest signatures, and maintain the delivery vehicle while upholding health and food-safety standards. Applicants must be 18+, have 2+ years of driving, and a valid IL driver's license.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Have a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Possess a valid IL Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Food Handler Certificate
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining safety standards and procedures
• Ability to properly operate a large vehicle, confidently
• Ability to work early morning hours and be on time (3AM/4AM start time)
• Ability to work consistent schedule at least 4 days per week
• Possess knowledge of Chicago area streets
• Available Saturdays
• Sundays off

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with the appearance of all product
• Quickly and accurately check that all items for all orders assigned to your delivery route are present prior to departure
• Load all product for your route into your vehicle in a logical manner to be able to efficiently collect and deliver items upon reaching the every destination
• Collect signature(s) from Guests upon delivery of items
• Clean and maintain company vehicle used upon completion of deliveries
• Box cakes on occasion just before leaving for delivery
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the wholesale department as directed by the department Manager or Coordinator
• Comply with health and food safety standards, restocking items and cleaning

West Town Bakery is a locally-owned bakery bringing quality breakfast pastries, breads and sweets to the Chicagoland area.

A Delivery Driver will be responsible for ensuring all orders, assigned to their delivery route, arrive safely and complete to its destination within a given delivery time window. This an early morning role that starts at 3AM.

Essential Functions:

• Be familiar with the appearance of all product

Physical Functions:

• Ability to stand/walk/sit a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
• Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
• Be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently
• Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
• Work in both warm and cool environments
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
