Job summary

Olin is seeking a Controls and Electrical Systems Specialist to design, develop, and maintain automated electrical controls for industrial equipment at our Webb City, MO site. The role requires hands-on programming of Allen-Bradley/Omron PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and machine vision, with a focus on safety compliance and capital projects.

You will provide engineering support across five White Flyer sites, travel ~30%, and collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize performance and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Electronics Engineer Technology preferred.
• Minimum five years designing electrical control systems and programming PLCs in industrial automation.
• Experience in programming/implementation of motor drives, HMIs, Servos, Machine Vision, and industrial networking preferred.
• Programming experience with Omron and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70E/79 machine safety and guarding preferred.
• Provide engineering support to five White Flyer sites.
• Excellent analytical, creative, communication, organizational, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel ~30%.

• Perform programming (new and modifications) of control devices, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, and Vision Cameras.
• Develop electrical specifications for new equipment and ensure compliance by coordinating with vendors through quotation, design, and build phases.
• Support maintenance team with electrical troubleshooting and train personnel on new controls.
• Develop, manage, and support capital projects, including Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions.

Controls and Electrical Systems Specialist Essential Job Functions

• Design electrical control systems for industrial automation equipment (480V and below).

Controls and Electrical Systems Specialist Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree*; Electronics Engineer Technology degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience designing electrical control systems and programming PLCs in industrial automation.
• Experience in programming and implementation of motor drives, HMIs, Servos, Machine Vision, and industrial networking preferred.
• Programming experience with Omron and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Working knowledge of machine safety and guarding, such as NEC and NFPA 70E/79, preferred.
• Provide engineering support to five White Flyer sites.
• Must possess excellent analytical, creative, communication (verbal and written), organizational, presentation, problem-solving, project management, and decision‑making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high‑volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be available and willing to travel approximately 30%.

Location-Specific Requirements

• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
