Job summary

Olin in Knox, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for remedial repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency fixes to keep production running smoothly.

You will work with the operating crew to diagnose problems, service equipment, and document work orders while adhering to safety procedures including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. The role offers a $31.25/hour base with a $1.25/hour shift differential and a 90-day probationary period.

Qualifications

• Proficient with hand and power tools and measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers).
• Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Experience in a high-output manufacturing environment preferred.
• Forklift operation and basic machining skills are expected.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead or work with operating crew to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Ensure machinery operates by completing preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnose defective parts and disassemble components for repair.
• Complete work orders and data entry in the maintenance system.
• Adhere to safety requirements including lockout/tagout and PPE.

Title: Maintenance Technician

Salary: $31.25/hour (After 90 days of active time in position and solid performance review, eligible for rate increase)

Schedule: S traight Afternoon (S/2) or Straight Midnight (S/3)

Shift Differential: $1.25/hour for afternoon and midnight shifts

Focus: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing remedial repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs.

Maintenance Technician Essential Functions

• Work with and/or lead the operating crew to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Troubleshoots and performs repairs on equipment.
• Ensures operation of machinery and other production equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose defective mechanical parts and disassemble the components for repair.
• Performs duties as assigned, including completing work order documentation and data entry into the computerized maintenance system.
• Adheres to all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and wearing required PPE.

Maintenance Technician Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A minimum of one year of related maintenance experience. Experience within a high-output manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be proficient in using hand and power tools, micrometers, and calipers.
• Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and high-voltage electricity knowledge.
• Must be able to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to operate manual mills and lathes.
• Fabrication and welding experience preferred.
• Ability to wear a respirator when required.
• Must have strong communication skills, be multi-tasking, detail-oriented, and be able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb ladders, work at heights, in weather elements and extreme temperatures, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to be on call, work other shifts, and weekends as needed.
