Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks an experienced Suspension Engineer to lead front and rear suspension design for U.S. SUVs, pickups, and off-road vehicles. You will drive development, validation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver durable, high-performance architectures.

The role requires hands-on CAD modeling in CATIA V5, coordination with CAE teams for FEA, and strong problem-solving skills. Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering required.
• Strong design and validation experience for chassis/suspension systems.
• Experience with front/rear suspension on SUVs, pickups, or off-road vehicles is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end suspension design for front and rear systems.
• Coordinate FEA and dynamic analyses with CAE groups to meet performance targets.
• Develop concepts and packaging layouts considering vehicle geometry and off-road needs.
• Define and execute validation plans including bench and vehicle tests.
• Collaborate with suppliers and review CAD models to meet specs.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA sessions, and manufacturing discussions.
• Document specifications, test reports, and engineering plans.
