Job Summary

Provides the transportation of patients/clients to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, dialysis centers, rehabilitation centers, medical offices and their private residences in a safe, secure and professional manner. A Wheelchair Transportation Driver provides safe and efficient non-emergency transportation for disabled, handicapped or elderly persons from Wellstar facilities to their destinations. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Transports patients and clients utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicates with dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions.
• Maintains a professional image and attitude in regards to clients, visitors and coworkers.
• Completes daily vehicle pretrip and post trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Assists clients and patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education

High School Diploma / GED

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
• GADL - Georgia Driver's License or VSDL - Valid State Driver's License

Additional License(s) and Certification(s)

• BLS - AHA within 30 Days Required

Required Minimum Experience

Less than 1 year experience as a driver, EMT, or related role. No more than 1 moving violation or 1 at fault accident within the past 3 years

Required Minimum Skills

• Must understand instructions in English (both written and spoken).
• High Ability to accurately complete activity logs vehicle reports.
• High Ability to understand and operate GPS devices, 2 way radios, and cell phones.
