Excelsior Ambulance Service in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Driver for Wheelchair/Stretcher Van NET to provide safe, timely transport for patients. The role requires assisting patients, operating wheelchair lifts, and maintaining safety and documentation standards.

Candidates should have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a Physical Agility Test. This full-time, non-exempt position offers competitive hourly pay, healthcare benefits, and opportunities to serve

Competenze

• At least 20 years of age.
• State Driver’s License required.
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Mansioni

• Safely operate a wheelchair van in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Assist patients entering/exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair lifts and securement.
• Provide safe transport to healthcare facilities, residences, and other destinations.
• Ensure wheelchair securement and safety equipment is properly used and maintained.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and required documentation.
• Provide high level of customer service to patients, families, and facility staff.
• Communicate delays, incidents, or safety concerns to dispatch and management.
• Assist with patient movement as needed.
