Job summary

Lynx EMS is seeking a dependable Day Shift Wheelchair Van Driver to support scheduled medical appointments, dialysis transports, and hospital discharges in Morgantown, WV. You will ensure patients arrive safely, on time, and with dignity, assisting with mobility and loading/unloading, while maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during daytime routes.
  • Transport patients to medical appointments and other healthcare locations.
  • Assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper lifting and body mechanics.
  • Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices before transport.
  • Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and families.
  • Maintain punctuality and efficient time management on routes.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections for safety and readiness.
  • Keep vehicle interior clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare providers about times and needs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, HIPAA, company policies, and traffic laws.

Job description

We are seeking dependable, service-oriented professionals to join our team as Day Shift Wheelchair Van Drivers. Daytime operations represent one of our highest-demand service periods, supporting scheduled medical appointments, dialysis transports, hospital discharges, rehabilitation visits, and interfacility transfers.

As a Day Shift Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients arrive safely, on time, and with dignity. This position requires strong time management, attention to safety, and a compassionate, patient-first mindset. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for patients, families, healthcare staff, and dispatch throughout the day.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in structured daytime schedules and want to make a meaningful impact in their community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible van during scheduled daytime routes
  • Transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, dialysis centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare locations
  • Assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper lifting, securement, and safety procedures
  • Ensure all wheelchairs and mobility devices are properly secured before transport
  • Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to patients and families
  • Maintain punctuality and efficient time management throughout assigned routes
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized vehicle interior
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and healthcare providers regarding arrival times, delays, or special transport needs
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, HIPAA guidelines, company policies, and traffic laws
What We’re Looking For
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely assist patients in and out of the vehicle using proper body mechanics
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to manage a structured daytime schedule with reliability and punctuality
  • Previous experience in medical transportation or healthcare is a plus, but not required
