Job summary

V3 Companies, an multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Wetland Scientist in Indiana to contribute to projects across Indiana, Ohio, and Southwest Michigan. The role supports a growing Wetlands & Ecology team with collaboration from 450+ designers, engineers and scientists.

The company offers ownership opportunities and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. You will conduct fieldwork, manage reports, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits (404/401).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, biology, ecology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience with wetland delineations, habitat evaluations and regulatory agency coordination in the Indiana/Ohio/Midwest.
• Formal wetland delineation training (certificate of completion) required.
• Ability to work in the field in inclement weather and travel Midwest with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage project fieldwork within Power and Energy, private development markets and watershed planning.
• Complete project reports within assigned timelines and provide technical direction.
• Perform and coordinate fieldwork with the Wetlands and Ecology Team, including wetland delineations and habitat evaluations.
• Prepare, submit, and obtain Section 404/401 and isolated wetland permit approvals.
• Opportunity to work on natural resource design/build projects.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and responsible decision-making.
• Represent V3 at professional industry events.
• Offer feedback to supervisory staff on performance of existing processes and procedures.

We’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in wildlife management, biology, ecology, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience with wetland delineations, habitat evaluations and regulatory agency coordination in the Indiana/Ohio/Midwest.
• Experience with professional wetland delineations.
• Received formal wetland delineation training (certificate of completion required).
• Be able to work in the field, inclement weather included, for long hours.
• Be able to travel throughout the Midwest with overnight stays.
• Must be able to meet V3’s company vehicle driving requirements.
• Have organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Have a willingness to learn and be part of a team.
• Strong communication and project coordination experience.
• Familiar with ESRI ArcGIS Pro
• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Employment drug screening.
