Job summary

The State of Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife seeks an Assistant Environmental Permitting Supervisor: Wetland Specialist to lead statewide land use planning and capital projects, acting as the primary wetland liaison with federal, state, local, and tribal partners.

You will supervise a team of wetland specialists and provide regulatory support for environmental permitting and habitat protection. As a senior planner, you will drive strategic planning, coordinate cross‑agency actions, and

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or above in physical sciences, natural sciences, environmental sciences, environmental planning or related fields.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in environmental science, natural resource planning or management, wetland delineation and mitigation, physical science, natural science, and/or natural resource-related program development.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

• Provide guidance and direction to staff regarding policies and procedures.
• Coordinate strategic planning and policy implementation across multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead statewide environmental permitting efforts and wetland science support.
