Job summary

RIVUS Consulting LLC is seeking a Wetland Ecologist to preserve and restore wetland ecosystems in Baltimore, MD. You will conduct field delineations, monitoring, and regulatory reporting while collaborating with state and local agencies.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience, a relevant BS, GIS proficiency, and strong communication skills. This position offers hybrid work arrangements and strong growth opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience including field work with wetlands and stream delineations and assessments
• BS in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, Hydrology, or related field
• Training in forest, wetland, and/or stream assessment
• Proficiency in GIS software and ecological data analysis tools
• Regulatory agency coordination and permitting experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Fieldwork experience in diverse and challenging environments
• Professional certification (e.g., Certified Wetland Scientist) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Field investigation including wetland and stream delineations and assessments, forest delineations, and/or habitat surveys.
• Post-construction and maintenance monitoring of stormwater best management practices and stream restoration projects.
• Environmental construction and post--construction monitoring.
• Water quality monitoring
• NEPA compliance and environmental permit reports and documentation.
• GIS analysis and mapping, field GPS data collection; and geo-processing.
• Data analysis and documentation
• Technical reports.
• Coordination with state & local agencies.
• Tasks associated with federal, state, and local environmental permits, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
