Job summary

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, seeks a Senior Engineer for Water Resources & Ecological Restoration in Maryland. Lead stream restoration and wetlands projects, coordinating with clients, agencies, and communities from concept through construction.

The role emphasizes hydrologic/hydraulic modelling, CAD-based design, and robust project management. On-site work with opportunities for growth within a national environmental consulting group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or biological engineering, or related discipline.
• EIT certification.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with stream restoration design.
• Experience with wetland mitigation design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D (or other professional CAD software).
• Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D, and TR-55).

Responsibilities

• Stream restoration design, project/construction drawings.
• Stream assessment and monitoring.
• Stream restoration construction oversight.
• Wetland mitigation design, project/construction drawings.
• Wetland mitigation assessment and monitoring.
• Wetland mitigation construction oversight.
• Coordinating Federal, State, and local approvals for wetland and stream projects.
• Hydrologic watershed analysis (HEC-HMS, TR-55).
• Hydraulic analysis of open and closed drainage systems (HEC-RAS).
• Project Management with client and public interaction.
• Preparing presentations for hearings and client review.
• SWM/LID/BMP design (Secondary duties).
• Clean Water Act permitting (Secondary).
• FEMA map revision requests (Secondary).
• Floodproofing and flood mitigation design (Secondary).
• Floodplain studies (Secondary).
