Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Wetland Delineator/Environmental Scientist to support projects across the Midwest from Cincinnati, Columbus, and other offices. The role focuses on wetland delineations, stream assessments, GPS data collection, and coordinating with regulatory agencies.

You will lead field teams, manage data and safety, and prepare permit documents while working in collaborative multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure, utility, and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience conducting wetland delineations and stream assessments.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology or related field.
• Familiarity with USACE wetland data forms, ORAM forms, and QHEI/HHEI stream data forms.
• Experience with GPS field data collection.
• Plant identification of Midwest vegetation.
• Willingness to learn and implement various field methods for data collection.
• Proficient with data management, organization and MS Office Suite.
• Attention to timely completion of high-quality work.
• Flexibility to meet fast-paced demands and long field hours.
• Ability to lead teams or work independently within multidisciplinary groups.
• Positive attitude and strong learning orientation.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of wetland delineations and stream assessments.
• Lead wetland field team in accordance with USACE Manual and Regional Supplements.
• Operate GPS to collect field data and map habitat types.
• Support field equipment, mapping, Safe Work Plans, and logistics for field work.
• Perform data entry, data analysis and report compilation.
• Coordinate with agencies (USFWS, USACE, OEPA, ODNR, etc.).
• Prepare wetland delineation reports and permit applications (Section 404/10, state permits, NPDES).
• Field projects may involve long hours and physically demanding conditions.
