Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a Wet/Process Mechanical Estimator to join the Estimating department in Portland. The role analyzes project designs and construction documents for mechanical scopes, develops cost estimates, and identifies opportunities to improve profitability on micro-chip facilities.

Office-based position with collaboration across the estimating team. Responsibilities include preparing takeoffs, coordinating with subs and vendors, reviewing drawings, and presenting estimates.

Qualifications

• Two years of construction estimating experience preferred.
• Experience with wet & process mechanical systems preferred.
• LEED accreditation or plan to pursue within 18 months is preferred.
• Education includes construction materials/methods knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates for wet and process mechanical scopes.
• Analyze designs to identify efficient products and methods.
• Track costs by bid package and change categories.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to validate budgets.
• Interpret drawings and quantify materials for construction.
• Perform on-screen takeoffs of material quantities.
• Summarize material quantities in an orderly fashion.
• Review, present, and reconcile estimates; identify scope gaps.
• Other duties as assigned.
