Job summary

Chemours in Florida (TRS) invites applications for Wet Mill Operators to join our Mining team. This role supports the operation of Heavy Mineral Sands wet mills and ensures safe, efficient production through monitoring, sampling, and adjustments.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown of equipment, routine maintenance, and collaboration with other departments. The role requires English literacy, teamwork, and willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime in hot conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions in English.
• Must be able to perform basic maintenance functions.
• Must be able to work in a team environment with different people.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and accomplish work safely.
• Ability to use various hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Starts up and shuts down equipment, i.e., centrifugal pumps and seals, kilns, screen system and conveyors in order to start production or have equipment repaired.
• Checks equipment and performs maintenance repairs (e.g., adjusting packing, changing belts on small pumps).
• Patrols area, operates equipment, monitors and adjusts panel board controls, takes samples and troubleshoots problems to maintain efficient operation.
• Inspects safety equipment (safety showers, eye wash stations, safety harnesses/lanyards, fire extinguishers, etc.).
• May substitute for other operators during absences; work rotating shifts as needed.
• Performs sampling and analyses in area lab; adjusts operations based on results.
• Operates mobile equipment (front end loader, skid steer, Bobcat, Mini Excavator).
