Job summary

100 Wilsonart LLC is seeking a Melamine Department operator in Fletcher, NC. The role involves learning and running multiple Melamine machines, setting up equipment, and ensuring specifications meet ISO standards.

You will work with the Product Quality and Safety teams to maintain visual quality, minimize downtime and waste, and support production continuity. The position requires basic math skills, a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to learn the Oracle system.

Qualifications

  • Machinery operating knowledge and safety awareness required.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret specifications.
  • Experience with factory machinery and ISO procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and fill in on all Melamine jobs as needed.
  • Set up and maintain all Melamine machines properly.
  • Run all material according to specified length and width from Product Quality Department.
  • Continuously check and adjust to maintain visual quality.
  • Be able to learn the ORACLE system.
  • Follow all ISO procedures as written.
  • Minimize Melamine downtime and waste.
  • Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as required.

Job Summary

Characteristics of the Class: Acquire a working knowledge of all positions in the melamine department. Ensure that material is being run to the correct specifications set forth in the ISO procedures. Provide assistance in setting up, running and maintaining the different machines in the melamine department. Emphasis on safety and visual quality is expected at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ability to learn and fill in on all Melamine jobs as needed.
  2. Set up and maintain all Melamine machines properly.
  3. Run all material according to specified length and width from Product Quality Department.
  4. Continually check and make adjustments for maintaining visual quality.
  5. Be able to learn the ORACLE system.
  6. Follows all ISO procedures as written.
  7. Work to keep all Melamine downtime to a minimum.
  8. Work to keep waste to a minimum.
  9. Regular attendance required. Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Machinery Operating experience and knowledge of safety procedures. Product knowledge and applicable quality standards. Safe handling and knowledge of working around hazardous material. Ability to read a tape measure.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE: One year of work experience and have a working knowledge of computers and the Oracle system. Be able to completely learn the many different jobs in the Melamine area and fill in on these jobs as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling of material up to 100lbs, lifting up to 85lbs from floor to mid-thigh, lift up to 50lbs from mid-thigh to shoulder, lift 40lbs from shoulder to overhead, carry up to 135lbs and standing and walking during a minimum ten hour shift.

ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
