Job summary

The J.R. Simplot Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep plant equipment running smoothly in a fast-paced food and agriculture environment.

You will work under supervision with a team of maintenance staff to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across process, packaging, and utility zones. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and timely response to line calls.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training.
• Must complete the Structured Job Training program within the recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
• Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and calculate percentages for adjustments and calibrations.
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English to complete job duties.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have welding experience and be able to work in hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains plant equipment under supervision.
• Responds to mechanical line calls and completes assigned work orders.
• Maintains spare parts availability and orders parts as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Keeps work area clean, organized and safe; maintains daily log.
• Reads and understands manuals, drawings and shop drawings related to tasks.
