Job summary

TPI Global Solutions is seeking a Technical Field Manager with deep German automotive experience to support a network of local dealerships in the Metro Bay Area. You will diagnose complex vehicle concerns, mentor dealership technicians, and drive long-term technical solutions between dealers and the manufacturer.

Ideal candidates have 7–10+ years in automotive diagnostics, prefer VW/Audi/Mercedes-Benz, and can lead technical initiatives while traveling occasionally to support field operations.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of automotive technical experience.
• Strong background with Volkswagen or Audi; Mercedes-Benz master techs encouraged.
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication.
• Ability to build strong relationships with dealership teams.
• Primarily supporting dealerships within Metro Bay Area with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Support approximately 17 dealerships throughout the Metro Bay Area
• Partner directly with dealership technicians to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues
• Manage and monitor open technical service cases through resolution
• Investigate recurring technical concerns and perform root cause analysis
• Develop detailed technical reports outlining findings, repair challenges, and recommended corrective actions
• Act as the primary technical liaison between dealerships and the manufacturer
• Help improve dealer repair processes and overall technical performance

Are you a seasoned automotive technician or dealership technical specialist who enjoys solving complex diagnostic challenges and helping others succeed? We are seeking a Technical Field Manager to provide advanced technical support to a network of automotive dealerships and serve as a key technical resource between dealers and the manufacturer.

This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in German automotive brands, especially Volkswagen (VW), Audi, or Mercedes-Benz, who thrives on troubleshooting difficult vehicle concerns, mentoring dealership teams, and driving long-term solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Support approximately 17 dealerships throughout the Metro Bay Area
• Partner directly with dealership technicians to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues
• Manage and monitor open technical service cases through resolution

What We’re Looking For

• Previous dealership technical support, field technical specialist, or dealer management experience
• Strong background with Volkswagen or Audi preferred
• Mercedes-Benz Master Technicians with extensive German automotive experience encouraged to apply
• Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Strong technical documentation and communication abilities
• Ability to build strong relationships with dealership teams
• Primarily supporting dealerships within the Metro Bay Area
• Additional travel opportunities once or twice per year
