Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking an existing substitute teacher to support learning during teacher absences exceeding 10 days. The role involves following prepared lesson plans, supervising students, and maintaining a safe learning environment at a designated location.
Candidates should have either 48 college credits with ParaPro eligibility or a bachelor’s degree, with consideration for appropriate pay rates based on credentials. A Maryland Professional Certificate is preferred.
This position is open only to individuals who have been identified as EXISTING BCPS Substitute Teachers. Ensures effective and appropriate learning experiences for students during a teacher absence exceeding 10 consecutive days. Instructs and supervises students in a variety of settings. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience (to qualify for Non-degreed Rate of Pay): $20.16
Education, Training, and Experience (to qualify for Degreed Rate of Pay): $26.50
Experience Working In a Childcare Or Instructional Environment Preferred.
NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates with education credentials and experiences aligned to our critical need areas.
Maryland Professional Certificate preferred. Certificated candidates may be eligible for a higher rate of pay based on the specific assignment and with approval by the Department of Human Resources.
The work of this class is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move within the school and classroom setting.
Employment in this position is contingent upon successfully passing a background, Department of Social Services, and criminal history check. Employees must have submitted an application for employment to the Division of Human Resources, Office of Staffing.
