Job summary

Precision Drilling invites applications for a Field (Drilling Rig) Superintendent in West Texas. The role oversees land-based drilling operations, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards. You will manage field staffing, safety, and performance while coordinating with Rig Managers on maintenance and operations.

Ideal candidates have extensive oilwell drilling experience, with a track record in Rig Manager roles in U.S. operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; engineering/technical degree considered an asset.
• Minimum 3+ years’ oil well drilling experience in a Rig Manager capacity, with at least 2 years in U.S. operations.
• 10+ years in the drilling/oilfield industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling operations for the assigned area and ensure compliance with policies.
• Maintain field presence at rig sites to evaluate operations and provide proactive feedback.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, development, performance management, and employee relations.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met across operations.
• Coordinate with Rig Managers on maintenance, equipment issues, and downtime prevention.
