Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager for the West Region Power Generation team in Boise, Idaho.

You will lead multi-discipline project teams, maintain client relationships, drive proposals, and ensure schedule, quality, and profitability across utility-scale power and energy projects. The role emphasizes seller-doer responsibilities, strong communication skills, and a track record of managing complex design/consulting assignments within the power sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 7 years related experience.
• Minimum 2 years project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
• Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
• Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
• Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
• Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client's expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
• Monitor project budget and schedule; develop recovery plans for shortfalls.
• Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
• Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
• Perform design or consulting work in the manager's area of engineering expertise.
• Routinely report project progress to local and regional accounting and operations teams.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with strong organizational and communication skills.
