Job summary

Our West London client seeks an experienced Electronics Repair Technician to join a busy workshop. This hands-on role involves fault finding, repairing electronic equipment, and ensuring items are safe and reliable for continued use.

You will diagnose faults, repair at component level, solder/desolder SMT parts, test equipment, and keep accurate repair records. A qualification in electronics or electrical engineering and practical workshop experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience repairing electronic equipment.
• Qualification in electronics, electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Comfortable using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Good soldering skills with small components and PCB work.
• Mechanical aptitude for dismantling and reassembly.
• Experience with sound/video/lighting or other specialist electronic equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults.
• Carry out component-level repairs where appropriate.
• Replace defective components and assemblies.
• Solder and desolder conventional and surface-mount components.
• Test repaired equipment and confirm proper operation.
• Record repairs and update technical information accurately.
• Identify recurring faults or reliability issues.
• Assist with management of replacement parts and components.
• Support colleagues with complex technical problems.
• Carry out general inspection and quality checks on equipment.
