Job summary

Harrison Street Asset Management (HSAM) seeks an Associate to join the Real Estate Credit Strategies team in our Los Angeles office. You will evaluate, underwrite, and execute new credit opportunities across multifamily, student housing, senior housing, office, industrial, retail and hospitality sectors.

The role supports West Coast originations, with analytical, executional and strategic input throughout the investment cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in real estate or investment banking with underwriting exposure.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; Excel proficiency; Argus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support origination and execution of new credit investments including senior and mezzanine loans, public securities and preferred equity.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial cash flow models and sensitivities to evaluate investments.
• Conduct market, sponsor and asset-level due diligence including property inspections and third-party reports.
• Prepare and present in pipeline meetings, deal screening sessions and investment committees.
