Job summary

Arup seeks a Life Sciences Leader to drive the growth and technical excellence of its Science sector on the West Coast, with emphasis on San Francisco and Los Angeles. You will lead the creation and expansion of a West Coast Science hub, build key client relationships, and guide multi-disciplinary teams on major Life Sciences facilities.

You will oversee mechanical and electrical design, advance sustainable solutions, and ensure high-quality project delivery and risk management while

Qualifications

• Bachelor deg required in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• 15+ years of mechanical/electrical design for built environment.
• 10+ years delivering Life Sciences projects as Engineer of Record.
• Proven leadership of project teams and mentoring engineers.
• Experience growing a new office and winning work.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• Experience budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Familiarity with sustainable design strategies and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical/electrical design for medium to large Life Sciences projects.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients and collaborators.
• Mentor project teams and foster collaboration and innovation.
• Integrate sustainable design principles into projects.
• Negotiate contracts and engagement terms to optimize delivery.
