Job summary

CSL Behring seeks a Director, Regional Ecosystem Lead to drive external innovation across biotech, academia, and investment networks. Remote with West Coast travel, you will lead ecosystem engagements, scout opportunities, and guide deal teams.

The role partners with global R&D, BD, and legal to position CSL as partner of choice, build regional visibility, and strengthen CSL's pipeline and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in biopharma, external innovation, or business development.
• Advanced degree required (PhD, MD, or equivalent).
• Proven track record of enhancing Pharma senior leadership presence to drive BD deal flow.
• Proven ability to source and evaluate external opportunities and lead deal execution.
• Strong relationship-building with academic, biotech, and investment communities.

Responsibilities

• Source opportunities aligned with TA strategies and grow GLG presence.
• Expand relationships with universities, incubators, venture firms, and local groups.
• Collaborate with TA Search Leads on regional searches, plan engagements and conferences.
• Support regional deal teams from identification through due diligence.
• Represent CSL at local innovation events to raise visibility and engagement.
• Engage internal SMEs to strengthen external credibility.
