Job description

Esplanade by the Islands, located in Naples, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time and Part-Time Wellness & Sports Attendant! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Description
Position Summary

The Wellness & Sports Attendant is the front line of the member experience across our wellness campus. This is a cross-campus role: attendants rotate as a team between the pool, the fitness center, and the racquet sports courts rather than being assigned to a single post. The result is a consistent standard of service everywhere a member goes, and a team that can flex to wherever members are that day.

This position exists because presence matters. Attendants are not stationed behind a desk waiting to be approached — they stand, greet, anticipate, and know members by name. Every interaction is an opportunity to make a member feel expected and cared for.

Service Standards

These apply in every zone, every shift:

  • Stand and greet. Check-in is an active, personal welcome — never a free-flowing pass-through.
  • Learn members' names, routines, and preferences, and use them.
  • Anticipate the need before it's voiced: a towel, a chair, a water, directions, a court reservation.
  • Keep every space guest-ready at all times. Nothing is "someone else's area."
  • Represent policy with warmth and consistency, never with apology or improvisation.
  • Escalate promptly and accurately. Attendants are empowered to solve; they are also expected to know when to hand off.
  • The team studies and applies hospitality service standards at the level members would expect from a leading luxury resort brand.
  • Greet and check in members and guests; maintain accurate guest counts per club policy
  • Distribute, track, and collect towels according to the towel policy
  • Set, reset, and maintain lounge chairs, umbrellas, and pool deck presentation throughout the day
  • Monitor deck cleanliness, tidiness, and safety hazards; correct or report immediately
  • Support pool-based programming and events, including peak-period activation
  • Assist members with amenity questions and direct them to other campus offerings
Fitness Center
  • Greet every member entering the facility; assist with orientation to equipment
  • Sanitize equipment, restock towels and supplies, and maintain floor presentation continuously
  • Reset weights, mats, and accessories between uses
  • Report equipment issues to the Fitness Supervisor promptly and accurately
  • Support group fitness class setup, breakdown, and check-in
  • Assist with class and appointment sign-ups through club systems
Racquet Sports (Tennis, Pickleball, Bocce)
  • Greet players, manage court check-in, and support reservations through Clubhouse Online
  • Maintain court presentation: nets, windscreens, seating, water stations, and debris removal
  • Set up and break down for clinics, mixers, socials, and tournaments
  • Support programming including open play, beginner sessions, and youth activity
  • Report court surface, drainage, or equipment concerns immediately
All Zones
  • Support seasonal and signature events across the department
  • Maintain supply levels and communicate needs before they run out
  • Participate in team communication channels and respond to shift updates
  • Complete opening, mid-day, and closing checklists accurately and on time
  • Uphold guest access and towel policies consistently across all amenities
  • Support the department's cleaning standards; presentation is everyone's job
Full-Time Position
  • Approximately 32–40 hours per week
  • Availability required for weekends, holidays, and evening programming
  • Peak-season availability is a condition of the role: Thanksgiving, Christmas through New Year's, and spring break
  • Serves as a consistent point of continuity for members and a resource for part-time teammates
  • Expected to become proficient across all three zones and cover any of them independently
  • May be asked to lead shift setup, train new attendants, and support onboarding
  • Eligible for benefits per club policy
Part-Time Position
  • Approximately 12–28 hours per week, scheduled around peak member demand
  • Availability required for at least one weekend day and select holiday periods
  • Trained across all three zones, with primary assignment based on schedule needs and strengths
  • Ideal for candidates seeking flexible, consistent seasonal or year-round hours
  • Benefits eligibility per club policy
Qualifications
Required
  • Genuine warmth and a service-first orientation; comfortable initiating conversation with members
  • Reliability and punctuality — the schedule is the commitment
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations during a single shift
  • Basic technology comfort: club software, tablets, mobile communication apps, email
  • Availability that includes weekends and peak season
  • CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire
Preferred
  • Prior experience in hospitality, country club, resort, spa, or fitness facility operations
  • Familiarity with racquet sports, group fitness, or pool operations
  • Experience with member or guest management software
  • Interest in growth within the wellness and sports field; this role is a development pathway into fitness, spa, and racquet sports positions
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and walking for the majority of a shift, indoors and outdoors
  • Working outdoors in Southwest Florida heat, humidity, and sun for extended periods
  • Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds (towels, chairs, equipment, supplies)
  • Bending, reaching, and repetitive motion associated with setup, reset, and cleaning tasks
  • Moving between campus locations throughout a shift
