Job summary

YMCA of Greater Montgomery in Montgomery, AL is seeking a dedicated Wellness Staff member to support clients’ health and well-being through wellness services, with compassion and a focus on a positive, healthy lifestyle within the community.

You will assist with activities, conduct assessments, provide guidance on nutrition and exercise, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to create individualized plans while maintaining progress records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in wellness, fitness, or related field preferred.
• Experience in wellness, fitness, healthcare, or related area is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and encourage clients.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition, exercise, and stress management techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with wellness programs and activities designed to improve physical and mental health.
• Conduct wellness assessments and monitor client progress.
• Provide guidance on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and healthy living.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized wellness plans.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
• Organize and facilitate wellness workshops, classes, and events.
• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all clients.
• Stay current with wellness trends and best practices.
