Job summary

San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living is seeking a Wellness Nurse Supervisor to lead the Health & Wellness Department, supervise caregiving staff, coordinate resident medical services, and ensure regulatory compliance with documentation and care plans.

You will train staff, manage audits, oversee medication administration, and partner with families and physicians to maintain a high standard of care in the Assisted Living unit.

Qualifications

• Current and active State of California LVN or RN license.
• Minimum of two years of recent LVN nursing experience and/or two years in assisted living as Medication Technician or Caregiver.
• New RN graduates may be considered.
• Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in assisted living preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; coursework in medical terminology or health services preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to delegate, lead a team, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge of elderly care standards, infection control practices, and universal precautions.
• Demonstrated compassion for older adults and commitment to providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise medication technicians and caregiving staff with accurate shift handoffs.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records related to medications, treatments, and resident care.
• Assist with resident admissions, discharges, and transfers; manage medical charts.
• Lead infection control policy implementation including COVID-19 protocols.
• Coordinate and monitor resident medical appointments and transportation.
• Triage health changes and provide immediate clinical support.
• Address resident and family concerns professionally.
• Communicate status changes to physicians and care team.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and evaluations of wellness staff.
• Develop training, in-services, and mentoring programs.
• Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure timely ordering and stocking.
• Audit documentation and systems for compliance and quality.
• Provide medication and caregiving support as needed, including administering medications.
• Uphold infection control and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties to support department operations.
