Job summary

Recovery Network of Programs is hiring a cook to provide food services for clients at Horizons. The role supports wellness through menu planning, recipe creation, and high-volume meal production.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years cooking experience, strong communication skills, and training in safe food handling. Ability to maintain quality, sanitation, and professional conduct is essential for daily shift routines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Two to five years as a cook in a food service establishment.
• Some knowledge of co-occurring disorders and behavioral health care is preferred.
• Ability to stand for long hours.
• Training in food handling as required by the Department of Public Health.

Responsibilities

• Create recipes and prepare preset menus.
• Coordinate meal planning with the goal of promoting wellness.
• Prepare a large quantity of entrees, vegetables, desserts according to preset menu.
• Ensure quality is maintained and safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
• Order food supplies and control inventory.
• Follow public health guidelines.
• To the extent possible, honor dietary requests based on medical conditions and/or religious beliefs.
• Follow menus prepared by the Registered Dietitian.
• Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
