Job summary

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection is a luxury resort in Newport seeking a guest-focused spa associate to welcome guests, arrange bookings, and assist in daily spa operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and orient them to spa facilities; provide personal guest service.
• Book spa appointments and answer phones to take reservations.
• Assist with preparing treatment rooms and setting up therapy areas.
• Prepare drinks and serve poolside as needed.
• Maintain pool and spa areas tidy and restock supplies.
• Transport linen carts to the laundry facility.

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection is a former mansion-turned-storied 33-room luxury resort located in downtown Newport. Originally built in 1908 by scion Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, the property is the coastal city’s social hub and a vibrant, historic gem waiting to be explored. Brimming with alluring eccentricities, the mansion has been meticulously restored to its glory, boasting elegant fireplaces and museum-quality artwork in the welcoming lobby entrance, Mezzanine and Parlor Room. Dining options include The Dining Room at the Vanderbilt, which features a forward‑thinking menu of coastal New England classics, The Living Room, offering light bites and bar favorites, and The Conservatory, where guests can dine indoors as well as outdoors on the Garden Terrace. Guests can also enjoy evening drinks at the popular rooftop bar, The Roof Deck, which offers sweeping views of Newport Harbor. The Vanderbilt presents a spa and fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a variety of local experiences, such as sailing journeys on the Newport coast, private culinary classes, and more.

As host of all hosts, you will be responsible for orientating guests to the spa facilities, greeting guests as they enter the facilities, and providing personal guest service. The ideal candidate must love providing the ultimate customer service while paying close attention to detail while working within a fast paced environment.

• Ensure smooth flow of spa operations by reviewing daily treatment schedules and preparing/maintaining guest areas to meet our standards and protocols.
• Book spa appointments for guests
• Answer phones, take reservations, assist guests with spa bookings
• Prepare professional body care products, set up dry sauna rooms and prepare baths as needed.
• Take drink orders, prepare drinks and serve poolside as needed
• Assist with preparing treatment rooms
• Keep pool areas tidy by removing towels, cups and dishes and restock.
• Transport linen carts to the laundry facility.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service, personal care industry or pool service position in a luxury resort environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with an outgoing team within a large department.
• Possess excellent communication style.
• Have a personality that constantly goes above and beyond
