The Vanderbilt, a member of the Auberge Collection, is a luxury Newport resort seeking a Wellness Coordinator to manage spa, fitness and retail experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have previous customer service experience in the hospitality industry, the spa and wellness industry, or from within the retail industry.

• Possess excellent communication style and skills.
• Prior customer service experience/luxury hospitality experience preferred
• Combination of education and work experience

Responsibilities

• Schedule treatments, meet and greet guests, sell merchandise and check on fitness areas.
• Maintain spa and fitness center areas in a spotless condition between appointments.
• Process spa reservations and billing; assist guests on arrival and departure.
• Support all aspects of retail: guest assistance, product display, suggestive selling, and merchandising.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and communicate with management to ensure guest satisfaction.

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection is a former mansion-turned-storied 33-room luxury resort located in downtown Newport. Originally built in 1908 by scion Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, the property is the coastal city's social hub and a vibrant, historic gem waiting to be explored. Brimming with alluring eccentricities, the mansion has been meticulously restored to its glory, boasting elegant fireplaces and museum-quality artwork in the welcoming lobby entrance, Mezzanine and Parlor Room. Dining options include The Dining Room at the Vanderbilt, which features a forward-thinking menu of coastal New England classics, The Living Room, offering light bites and bar favorites, and The Conservatory, where guests can dine indoors as well as outdoors on the Garden Terrace. Guests can also enjoy evening drinks at the popular rooftop bar, The Roof Deck, which offers sweeping views of Newport Harbor. The Vanderbilt presents a spa and fitness center with indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a variety of local experiences, such as sailing journeys on the Newport coast, private culinary classes, and more.

Join our team as a Wellness Coordinator and become one of the authors of our story. The Wellness Coordinator provides an exceptional environment in spa, fitness and retail to enhance the guests visit. Schedules treatments, meet and greet guests, sell merchandise and check on fitness areas.

• Maintain the Spa and Fitness Center areas in a spotless condition and maintain the common areas of the spa in between appointments.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the treatments and the ability to recommend and suggestive selling.
• Process spa reservations, billing, and meet and greet all guests as they arrive and depart from their treatments.
• Support all aspects of retail: Guest assistance, product display, suggestive selling, and merchandising.
• Handle guest complaints or problems immediately, ensuring guest satisfaction. Communicate all of the above to management to ensure communication to all necessary departments.
• Use good judgement and maintain discretion and diplomacy while performing job duties.
• Participate in all designated programs, meetings, and training.
