North River Family Y in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a part‑time Wellness Staff member to support members on the wellness floor, conduct fitness evaluations, and orient new users to ActivTrax and equipment. A positive, service‑minded attitude is essential.

The role includes helping members connect with one another, maintaining a clean wellness space, and providing friendly customer service throughout shifts, with opportunities to grow and learn. A free YMCA membership is included.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree or pursuing one in Exercise Science preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and O2 certifications required within 30 days of hire.

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4:30am-9:30am

Fridays: 4pm-9pm

Saturdays: 1pm-6pm

General Overview:

• Assist members and guests on the wellness floor as needed
• Provide excellent customer service members and guests
• Perform fitness evaluations, ActivTrax (we'll teach you all about it), and wellness orientations
• Instruct members on the use of ActivTrax, wellness floor equipment and answer other questions they may have
• Build authentic relationships with members and help them connect with each other
• Maintain a clean and well-maintained wellness center including keeping floors free of debris, dusting, keeping up with towels, etc.)

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree or work towards one in Exercise Science or related field preferred
• At least one year of wellness experience preferred
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 required within 30 days of hire - we provide
• Accredited certification within 6 months of hire
• New Employee Orientation required within first week of hire

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including demonstrating exercises, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
