Job summary

YMCA of Greater Omaha is seeking a Part-Time Group Fitness Manager in Council Bluffs, IA. The role supervises staff and wellness programs, ensuring safe facilities and quality services for members seeking healthy living goals.

Qualifications

• 1. Must be at least 18 years of age
• 2. 1 year supervisory experience in customer service and/or fitness training
• 3. Demonstrated success leading health & wellness-focused or equivalent team
• 4. Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
• 5. Complete before first shift: YMCA cause & culture training; program-specific training; all required abuse prevention training
• 6. Complete within 30 days of hire: BLS CPR; First Aid; Emergency Oxygen Administration (provided by YMCA)
• 7. Complete within 90 days of hire & maintained consistently: YMCA program-specific certifications and current nationally recognized Group Exercise and/or Personal Training Certification
• 8. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
• 9. Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.
• 10. Report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and adhere to mandated abuse reporting and responsibilities.
• 11. Screen, train, and enforce abuse prevention policies for staff.
• 12. Promote a reporting culture, address violations, and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates personal trainers and wellness center staff performance.
• Develops, models and integrates systems and practices that encourage and sustain positive relationships and retention of members/participants.
• Develops and implements new program activities in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Manages payroll related transactions and monitor for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete. Maintains/keeps current personal certification requirements.
• Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, organizes and schedules program registrations.
• Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates program quality and enrollment.
• Operational support of YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
• Actively participates in branch, department and association staff meetings and/or related trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
