Job summary

YMCA of Greater Omaha is seeking a Charles E. Lakin Personal Trainer/Wellness Coach in Council Bluffs, IA. The role involves designing and guiding individual and group fitness sessions in a welcoming setting and building community through inclusive wellness.

The position requires ability to work with varied fitness levels, obtain required certifications, and complete YMCA trainings. A flexible schedule and growth opportunities are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Two or more years of college in relevant field preferred.
• Must hold current nationally recognized Personal Trainer certification.
• Excellent customer service and general office skills.
• Ability to communicate with groups of varying fitness levels.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Complete YMCA culture training before first shift.
• CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Able to relate to diverse groups and pass background check.
• Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse reporting training.
• Report suspicious behavior and adhere to abuse reporting duties.

Responsibilities

• Design safe, effective exercise programs based on client goals.
• Maintain professionalism and client rapport; emphasize wellness.
• Work independently, manage client records and confidentiality.
• Model a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude.
• Educate clients on fitness and wellness principles.
• Participate in departmental and branch trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
