Job summary

Metuchen-Edison YMCA is seeking a Wellness Director to lead the Wellness and Fitness operations for all ages in Metuchen, NJ. You will oversee programming, staff development, budgeting, and safety compliance to serve the community and the Association.

The role requires strong leadership, program management experience, and excellent communication skills, with responsibilities spanning planning, coaching, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with branch staff to maximize facility usage.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Program management experience required.
• Budget development and staff supervision experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct wellness and fitness areas to meet community needs.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule and develop staff.
• Establish classes, programs, and activities within the association.
• Develop and manage the budget for all areas of responsibility.
• Ensure health and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to.
• Coordinate facility usage with branch staff and teams.
• Handle payroll, incident reports, and department communications.
