Job summary

HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is seeking a Wellness Engagement Specialist to develop and deliver fitness and health promotion activities for the San Mateo client population. You will provide health coaching in person or by telephone, crafting personalized programs that align with a participant’s goals and stage of change.

You will lead wellness initiatives, collaborate with client locations, and track outcomes while adhering to HealthFitness protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a health-related field.
• Current Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certifications with in-person component.
• Group Exercise or Personal Trainer certification (ACE/AFAA/NASM/ACSM/NETA).
• Minimum of two years’ health/wellness coaching experience.
• Knowledge of disease and lifestyle topics (smoking cessation, diabetes, weight, stress, injury prevention).
• Experience applying health behavior change theories.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• HIPAA compliance experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and in a team; travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Support onsite and virtual workshops, health fairs, flu shot clinics, biometric screenings, and wellness initiatives.
• Deliver personalized Lifestyle Coaching and document face-to-face sessions.
• Review biometric screenings and health risk assessments; use Stages of Change.
• Attend ongoing training and quality assurance.
• Serve as a wellness advocate across client locations; visit multiple locations.
• Promote and track program offerings; conduct outreach to increase participation.
• Other duties as needed.
