Job summary

The YMCA of the USA seeks a Director of Health & Wellness to lead strategic initiatives across the organization, advancing physical activity, nutrition, mental wellness, and chronic disease prevention. You will oversee program development, implementation, and evaluation to deliver measurable health outcomes.

Collaborating with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders, you will scale successful wellness programs and ensure evidence-based practices guide decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university in Fitness management, Health/Physical Education, Exercise Science or equivalent.
• Certified personal trainer certification (ACE or NASM) or other recognized PT certifications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• Proven success in developing and scaling wellness programs.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in health and wellness.
• Excellent communication, strategic planning, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute strategic initiatives that promote health and wellness across the organization or community.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate programs that encourage physical activity, nutrition, mental wellness, and chronic disease prevention.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure measurable outcomes and long-term impact.
