Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, we are seeking a Wellness Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to originate, direct, and coordinate all special and ongoing fitness/physical wellness programs under the direction of the resident services director, in accordance with established policies and procedures. The coordinator will promote a comprehensive wellness program aligned with the principles of LifeConnect, addressing all dimensions of wellness to enhance the health and well-being of residents and staff.

In this role, the Wellness Coordinator will:
  1. Manage the fitness center operations, including facilities, personnel, programs, and budget.
  2. Lead group exercise classes, monitoring and adjusting types and times to meet residents’ interests and needs. Programming will include purpose-based, functional fitness, and traditional classes suitable for senior living communities.
  3. Encourage resident participation in the fitness center and classes.
  4. Promote and facilitate the use of Technogym and other fitness machines.
  5. Conduct senior fitness tests, entering data into LifeConnect or Technogym technology.
  6. Develop individualized comprehensive fitness programs tailored to each resident’s needs and abilities across all levels of care.
  7. Provide personal and fitness instruction, including equipment orientation, fitness assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring.
  8. Collaborate with therapy directors, nurses, and healthcare administrators to present preventive health programs, conduct balance assessments, and ensure rehabilitative services as medically indicated.
The ideal candidate will have:
  1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in physical therapy, exercise physiology, gerontology, or related fields.
  2. Current ACSM Health Fitness Specialist or Group Fitness Instructor certification, obtained at or within 3 months of hire.
  3. Highly desired: specialty certifications such as personal trainer, Tai Chi, or Arthritis Foundation aquatic certification.
  4. Current ACSM certification and CPR/First Aid certifications.
  5. Experience working with senior adults or in long-term healthcare settings.
  6. At least two years of direct fitness programming experience, preferably in senior settings.
  7. Knowledge of universal precautions.
Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $ - $ (based on qualifications, experience, and other factors)
