The Salvation Army Southern California seeks a Wellness Coach Supervisor to coordinate wellness and athletic programs at the Kroc Center. The role includes supervising Wellness staff and enhancing customer relations in the Wellness area.

Responsibilities

• Supervise wellness coaches.
• Conduct personal coaching appointments as needed.
• Assist Wellness Manager in equipment research and selection.
• Maintain wellness equipment inventory.
• Schedule quarterly coaching meetings and workshops.
• Oversee member retention programs and software.
• Oversee growth of nutrition programming.
• Train wellness staff in personal coaching and customer service.
• Serve as department contact during Wellness Manager absence.
• Supervise daytime Wellness Attendants.
• Recommend improvements to the Wellness Manager.
• Attend and staff trade shows and community events as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• All other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Supervise wellness coaches
• Complete personal coaching appointments as necessary.
• Assist the Wellness Manager in equipment research, review and selection.
• Supervise the maintenance of the Wellness equipment inventory.
• Schedule quarterly coaching meetings and workshops with all Wellness Coaches.
• Supervise and implement member retention programs and software.
• Supervise implementation and growth of nutrition programming.
• Train wellness staff in personal coaching and customer service.
• Serve as department point of contact during absence of Wellness Manager.
• Supervise daytime Wellness Attendants
• Recommend changes and improvements to the Wellness Manager.
• May be asked to attend and staff trade shows and other community events.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• All other duties as assigned.

General Qualifications And Proficiencies

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, with 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Current First Aid, CPR and AED required, instructor certification preferred.
• Certifications in the field of Fitness and Health are desirable.
• Leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the general public.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience is preferred.
• A passionate desire to contribute to the ongoing development of innovative and excellent fitness, wellness, and athletic programs offered at the RJKCCC.
• Teaching or coaching experience in the area of fitness, health, and athletics is desirable.
• Tournament organization, sports team management, experience is desirable.
• Fitness, health, and athletics experience with people of various ability levels and various age groups, infants through senior citizens, is desirable.
• Certifications and work or personal experience relating to other programming areas, such as aquatics, that are offered at the RJKCCC is desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and insured transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
